Why I Am Running for Congress
I am running for Texas Congressional District 21. One of the main reasons I have chosen to run is to help in building a better future for my children and grandchildren—indeed, a better future for all of us, throughout this nation. But not only a better future, I think we need a better now, too.
I believe Progressivism is both compassionate and practical. It is the necessary constant march of humanity. I want to say that again with a slightly different emphasis. Progressivism is not only compassionate, but it is also highly practical, and we need to help people learn this. It is a commonsense approach to a better economy, a better nation, and a better world.
I enter this race to do what I can to help unite us as a people; to unite us as a community of diverse people. To unite us on the things that make a better life for all.

"I believe a more united Congress can work together for all Americans, but it must be united on a philosophy that includes all Americans. It must include special emphasis on those who suffer the most, and those who are always on the edge of financial ruin.
A less divided Congress will cease to be a do-nothing Congress. A less divided Congress could be the beginning of restoring faith in our democracy and in government itself, particularly Congress. We, the people, are supposed to be the government. So, mistrust in the government is mistrust in ourselves. A less divided public can elect a less-divided government."
